On Page Optimization:

On-page optimization is one of the types of SEO that refers to factor that gives outcome to website or web page ranking on SERP ( Search Engine Results Page ). On-Page Optimization means controlling webpage by you or by your page coding.

Below are the topics which we are going to discuss for On page optimization.

1. URL Optimization (or) File Name (or) Permalink

According to Google the URL should be separated by –(iphan) or _(underscore) and it should not be separated by remaining things.
Ex:- www.abc.com/Digital-Marketing
In the above link the page called Digital Marketing is separated by (-).

2. Meta Tags

There are several Meta tags used in HTML but the top four tags that are used for SEO are Meta Title, Meta Description, Meta Keywords and Robot tags.

a) Title Optimization

Title is the most important factors for a good SEO of a webpage. According to Google rules the title should not be more than 70 characters and in the keyword we need to 1 or 2 keywords or else we need to form entire title by using keyword. But according recent updated released by google the title should not be more than 55 characters. Ex shown below.


In the above the title is more than 55 char so there u can find …..(dots) option. Then it will be hit by Google and the position also Increased (goes down).

b) Meta Description

According to Google rules the description should not be more than 154 char and here we need to add 3 to 4 keywords or else we need to form entire description by using the keywords. But now they reduced to 115 char limit. In the above image u can the description with ……(dots) which is more than 115 chars.

To count the character limit we use the tool called www.Seomofo.com.

c) Meta Keywords

In early days Meta keywords are the least important tag for Search engine like Google. But it is an easy way to tell our important keywords to search engine. Meta keywords should contain less than 32 characters. Now it was reduced to 18.

d) Meta Robots

Meta robots are used to control the crawler and Indexer, when to read and copy the data.While doing the Link-Building Meta robots plays main role. According to Google we have 4 robots namely

Index, Follow, No-Index, No-Follow

3. Breadcrumbs

The Navigation from one page to another page within the website called breadcrumbs. For Example shown in below.


4. Heading Optimization

In every page I need to add the heading just like while we are writing the exams we use to keep the headings, sub-headings etc. For Example shown below.
Main Heading(h1): <h1>Digital Marketing</h1>

Sub-Heading(h2): <h2>Seo</h2>

5. Anchor Linking

Anchor text is a clickable hyperlink that is also known as link text, link label and link title.The keyword contained in the anchor text would increase the ranking of a webpage that receives the incoming link.

6. Canonical Linking

.htacess file is used to solve the canonicalization issue of a website. It may happen that the home page of the site may take several urls like http://www.seocutts.com/ or http://www.seocutts.com/index.html or http://seocutts.com/

The search engines might treat these url as different and may divide the link juice gained by having various backlinks made with any of these 3 urls. The link juice gets divided between these three urls equally. .htacess file is created to have a single url of the home page so that the link juice is passed onto single url.

7. Content Optimization

According to Google, the content should not be less than 500 words and more than 2000 words and add 12 to 20 keywords in the content and make the keywords in Bold or Italic form, So the Google can Easily Identify the difference between Text & Keywords.

8. Like box/Follow box

Use facebook like box and follow box in the website to get free likes to the Fb Page and free followers to twitter.

9. Social Share buttons

Add social share buttons on the website, to make the User to know about our daily activities. It showing in the below image.

10. Footer Optimization

For every website there is 3 parts like Header, Body, and Footer. In the Footer we need to add only Address, Social Sharing Buttons and Quick menu and should not add keywords or more links, because it will be hit by Penguin Update.


11. Server Optimization

The changes which we are going to modify in the server, so that those things will be changes in the website.For examples

a). Non-www to www
After purchasing a website we need to assign www to our website. To do this we have tool called www.htaccessredirect.net. Copy the code and save it in Notepad then rename it as .htaccess and upload it to route folder by using filezilla. Then after reload the website check it.


b). Change of Address

Changing the domain name of your website can have a serious impact on SEO and organic traffic and generally it is not advised from SEO perspective. This is because each domain name is linked with several metrics (trust, authority, etc), characteristics (domain age, GEO location signals, etc) and above all the hyperlinks. In this SEO Guide we will explain the risks of transferring from an old domain to a new one and we describe in detail the steps that one should take in order to minimize the losses of search engine traffic. So without losing all this things we can easily transfer the old website SEO rank to new website by using the tool called www.htaccessredirect.net.


c). Robots.txt

Robots.txt is common name of a text file that is uploaded to a Web site’s root directory and linked in the html code of the Web site. The robots.txt file is used to provide instructions about the Web site to Web robots and spiders. Web authors can use robots.txt to keep cooperating Web robots from accessing all or parts of a Web site that you want to keep private.


d). Sitemap Submission:

A site map (or sitemap) is a list of pages of a web site accessible to crawlers or users. It can be either a document in any form used as a planning tool for Web design, or a Web page that lists the pages on a Web site, typically organized in hierarchical fashion.Sitemaps make relationships between pages and other content components. It shows shape of information space in overview. Sitemaps can demonstrate organization, navigation, and labeling system. To generate Sitemap we use the tool called www.xml-sitemaps.com. Sitemap is in two types:

1) Html meant for User and

2) XML meant for crawler.


After generating the sitemap add it to the Route Folder like by using the FILEZILLA upload to hosting. Then submit it to the Google webmaster tool which shown in the below 2nd Image.
